Herzogenaurach, 28/10/2013:
The companies Artschwager & Kohl Software GmbH, ProLeiT AG and Wesergold Getränkeindustrie GmbH & Co. KG and the chairs for Food Packaging Technology and for Automation and Information Systems at the Technical University of Munich have joined forces with the associated research partners Danone Rosenheim and the Tucher Brewery Nuremberg-Fürth to form a research association and launched the research project “AutoMES – Automatic Generation of Production Management Systems”.
The research project is funded by the “Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung” (Federal Ministry of Education and Research).
The problem:
More and more data sources are emerging in increasingly networked production plants, both as manual inputs and in a wide variety of systems and machines. Data acquisition, integration, preparation and presentation are becoming increasingly complex, and thus more costly. Often, even the smallest changes in existing systems lead to a significant disruption in data acquisition and, as a result, in data presentation.
The research project:
The objective is to be able to carry out declarative data acquisition and processing by means of suitable systems and solutions. In future, these tasks are to be carried out by the company's own plant personnel without programming specialists.
The solution approach:
The approach is to develop a specification generator that can be used to perform plant modelling, process modelling and data profile modelling. The modelling results in a description file on the basis of which code generators can collect, process and provide the written data.
